For a week that has been explosive for survivors of abuse in the UK press regarding the #CSAinquiry it’s very hard not to take a ‘back seat’.
Through the week I received two thank you notes one of which is above, and from when I look back a few years ago this would have been a sector I could only have ever dreamt to look up to, let alone be part of.
Considering my training was in only playing the guitar, a very different field, it seems very surreal to me to receive quotes like the above which never quite ‘sink’ in.
But its quotes like these that compel you on, to return and see where the road turns.
The hardest test for survivors is yet still to come but the global comradeship speaks volumes in its quest for being heard.
