Georgina began learning the violin prior to the guitar at age 8. Her studies began with instrumental lessons at her LEA schools in Norfolk with Pat Hanchet founder of the Norfolk Composers Group, and Pat Foster. Georgina also performed a concerto performance with Norfolk County Youth Orchestra. She was also placed as leader of extra curricular orchestras on residential courses, but sometimes preferred to default to deputy leader of the first violins.
Georgina continued her studies at the City of Norwich School sixth form where she led the college’s orchestra and undertook lessons with Paul Clarke, leader of the Academy of St Thomas orchestra, based in Norwich for 35 years. During this time she obtained her A levels and her grade 8 ABRSM certificate. Georgina was awarded the was awarded the Michael Badminton String Prize at the Norfolk Young Musician Competition.
During her time at Trinity Laban in Greenwich, London, Georgina further enriched her musical prowess under the tutelage of Oliver Butterworth. Post-university, she embarked on a captivating tour with her ensemble, the English Fayre Quartet, gracing the stages of the UK, Norway, and Iceland on Princess Cruises. Their performance was lauded as ‘the best band on the boat.’

Presently, Georgina shares her passion for the violin by teaching private students and collaborating with music services. She is a member of the ISM. Her diverse repertoire encompasses a fusion of styles, including folk, jazz, popular, and classical favourites, all skilfully performed on solo, unaccompanied violin. She performs for Music in Hospitals and recently was returned twice to the same care home to perform for the resident’s, at their request.
